STEM - EARTH SCIENCE

This month in the STEM lab, the students have been studying earth science. More specifically, erosion and weathering. The class learned about the different types of erosion and weathering and looked at examples of them from around the world. We also explored Google Earth and discussed all the different types of natural materials that make up the surface of our planet.

We experimented with both wind and water erosion in the lab. The students were challenged to use different types materials to "protect" their land from water erosion. They were able redo many of their experiments and make changes based upon what they learned in their first trial.

The water table was really fun and exciting to use! We were able to simulate what a flood would be like and how it would change the land. Ask your child what their favorite part of STEM has been over the past couple of weeks.

Check out the pictures below of the students!
