We had a celebration it was a snow sled party . We went down at the same time. We crashed into the woods. We also had a funny crash. Noah and Chatham were being funny. It was after recess of course we had fun. Your funny friend Theodore Dattilio.

Passing the torch

In the spirit of the Winter Olympics, our school has been passing the GEMS torch from classroom to classroom over the past week or so. Each class is adding a flame to the torch with a personal message about some of the personal characteristics it takes to be an Olympic Athlete. 

Our class focused on equality and thought about all the different countries competing together!

100th Day of School! By Chris

For the 100th day of School our class did a 100th day of  school workout. It was fun. I think  it would be fun to do at home too!

Opening Ceremonies!

Over the past week or so, our class has been learning A LOT about different aspects of the Winter Olympics. This year's Olympics are being held in Pyeongchang, South Korea and opening ceremonies are today, February 9th.

To celebrate and honor the opening ceremonies, the students participated in a Ski Jump STEM challenge. The students were in small groups and had to design a plan for a ski jump that could launch a marble. The students were able to launch a marble four times and added up the total distance for a team score. I was so proud of the team work and cooperation I saw across the classroom!

Later on in the day, the students learned about the traditions of the Olympic Torch. The students were able to make their own torch that will stay in the classroom until the day before February break!
