Non-Fiction Text Feature Biography Posters

This spring, the class has been focused and working hard on completing one of their largest projects of the year. The students chose a person who has made a difference in our world, to research, study, and create a project around. We had a wide variety of individuals selected, from Elizabeth Blackwell to Shawn White. The students enjoyed immersing themselves in their research and are quite the experts now. The class was challenged to include as many non fiction text features on their poster project as possible. The class studied how to use these important tools during their research, and now they were able to create their own. For example, each poster has a timeline, a glossary and a heading. Ask your child what these text features are for when reading a non fiction book!

Here are the students presenting their projects to one another. They had such a great time learning more from their classmate's projects.
