Math Resource

Today I will be sending home a math resource with your child in their home/school folder. In the coming months, the 2nd grade will be learning about the properties of multi digit addition and subtraction in math. This will help you assist your child's understanding of these big ideas and also with homework that you may be unfamiliar with. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Addition Facts

The students have been working hard to practice their fluency of their addition facts. Today in math, they rotated through different stations to play games that helped them fine tune those skills. You can help by quizzing your child at home to help them continue to build their understanding of their basic facts. Plus nine, eight, seven and six problems tend to be the trickiest!

Being Thankful

Today we completed our thankful pumpkins and read a Thanksgiving poem called Turkey Troubles, during our literacy time. The students did a very nice job reflecting on what they are thankful for!

11 day's ago we started a time calendar. We added 30 minutes for 7 days, then we added 4 hours, then subtracted 30 minutes for 3 days. I predict that it will subtract 30 minutes for 7 days, then  subtract 4 hours.
