14 school days left!

Here are the students checking out the THIRD GRADE playground :)

4 Winds Afternoon! By Tayton, Cooper and Owen B.

This week the students enjoyed an afternoon of 4 Winds activities at different stations around the stream by our school! At one station, the students explored in the stream, took notes, and tested the water temperature. At a different station, they found a spot in nature that inspired them and painted with watercolors. At the third station, the students watched a puppet show and explored a tank with macro invertebrates! At the last station, the class broke up into small groups and used props to mimic adaptations that they had learned about during the day and explained their use!
Check out these pictures from our day!

STEM Lab

Our class is back in the STEM lab!

Last week the second grade was able to explore the river simulator table. The students worked in small groups to strategically place rocks and sponges, that acted as trees and shrubs, to protect their homes from erosion/flooding damages. The river started out as a normal spring stream and then slowly intensified to flood conditions.

The students were able to take note of what worked and what they needed to improve to protect their homes for a second trial.
