Halloween Party!

Our class will be having a Halloween party on Tuesday, October 31st. We already have plenty of scary sweet treats coming in for the students to enjoy. Students are welcome to wear Halloween colors, but save the costumes for for trick or treating :)

Also, the students earned a small celebration! They are allowed to bring a stuffed animal, doll or blanket to school to enjoy during certain parts of our day.

                           Thank you,

                          - Mrs. Christie

Ryder's Blog Post - a NEW greeting!

Yesterday, our class learned a new greeting during our morning meeting.
We have to walk like a zombie or we can tiptoe or skip or swim this is the ways to move.
This is the ways to greet: link elbows or hi five or hand shake.
Then we share!

Fire Safety

Today, the second grade had a Fire Safety presentation. We learned about what to do in the case of a fire emergency and who to call. The students were also able to explore fire tools and the truck outside. The Fire Department was also kind enough to give each student with a water bottle filled with goodies!

THANK YOU GEORGIA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT!

Small Celebration!

Once again, this wonderful class has filled up their GEM box by being respectful, responsible, safe and kind! The class chose face painting for their small celebration this time. We had a great time on Friday afternoon getting creative and silly. Their ideas definitely tested the teacher's artistic skills!

Congratulations 2nd graders! Job well done!

Stella and Ryder's Blog Post

On Thursdays we have a paper on our desk with lines on it to make a creative picture, but we can't draw a certain things. We have to think outside the box!

Library Time

Today during our Library time, our class listened to a book called A Library Book for Bear by Bonny Becker. It was very entertaining and funny. Ask you child about the book they heard and which text they selected from the library to take home!

4 Winds Field Trip

Last Friday, the second grade was lucky enough to attend a 4 Winds field trip to the Senesac's property in Georgia. We explored the trees, trails and natural sights around us. The big idea from the field trip was all about trees. The students learned about different parts of trees, their functions, different types of trees, and all sorts of interesting tree facts! Thanks so much to all of our 4 Winds volunteers! Here are some photos from our day...
