Elementary Winter Carnival

Dear 2nd Grade Families,

On Thursday, February 7th, our class will be attending a Winter Carnival here at the Elementary School. The carnival will have many outdoor winter activities and equipment for the students to explore and play with. Please send in your child with layers. If possible, two pairs of gloves and socks and any other extra winter gear to keep the students warm as they will be outside for 2 hours in the unpredictable weather. We are asking that the students not bring in any extra equipment as we will have plenty for all!

Thank you!
Mrs. Christie

Sensory Poetry

The class has been hard at work writing and publishing poetry in the Innovation Lab!
During the weeks after our holiday break, the students wrote winter sensory poems.
They were challenged to include many adjectives as they could in their writing in order to paint a picture in the reader's mind.

Here is the bulletin board with our published work, check in out in the hallway next to the classroom if you can! The students will be bringing home a special version of their poetry this week to share with their family, look for it in their folders :)
