Jane Goodall by Mattie Lewis
This week we learned about Jane Goodall. We learned that she helped the chimpanzees and that she made a difference in our world. She studied them to see how they are alike to humans. We learned that she taught humans how to plant fast growing trees so they would not cut down the chimp's trees. Jane Goodall said, "Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference. And we have a choice: What sort of difference do we want to make?"

Non Fiction Text Features
This past week the students learned about non-fiction text features. We found that they help us navigate a book and learn more about a specific question we may have. In the upcoming weeks, the students will use what they learned about non-fiction books to help them research an individual that has made a difference in our world!
Multiplication and Arrays
In math, the class is learning about multiplication. Yesterday we played a game where the students rolled a die twice to make a number of columns and rows in an array. Then they labeled the array with the matching multiplication problem and product!

Tooth Tutor
Last month the Tooth Tutor came for a visit to teach the students about tooth care. I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures as the students practiced brushing their teeth and realizing they may have missed a few spots! 😬
